Glossary
The vocabulary of agent trust, defined answer-first so you and your tools can quote it.
- Know Your Agent
- Know Your Agent, or KYA, is the identity check that confirms an agent is real and tied to a known operator. AgentFide verifies the agent's signed credential, such as a signed A2A agent card, rather than trusting a claim.
- assess call
- The assess call is the single request an agent makes to AgentFide before a transaction. It returns an allow, review, or deny decision built from four checks: identity, authority, reputation, and recourse.
- Four check trust stack
- The four check trust stack is the set of checks AgentFide runs on every assess call: identity, authority, reputation, and recourse. Together they answer who, allowed, trusted, and covered.
- Agent reputation
- Agent reputation is a transparent, explainable score built from an agent's real track record, such as whether it paid, delivered, stayed in bounds, and avoided disputes. It reflects real behavior and cannot be bought.
- AP2 mandate
- An AP2 mandate is a scoped grant of authority that says what an agent may do on behalf of a principal, including a limit, a currency, and an expiry. AgentFide's authority check validates a spend against the mandate.
- Agent recourse
- Agent recourse is the protection that lets you undo a bad transaction. AgentFide can hold funds in escrow and roll back a transaction, so a single mistake is recoverable rather than final.
- Agent Rewind
- Agent Rewind is AgentFide's undo guarantee for covered transactions. When a deal goes wrong, Agent Rewind reverses it and returns funds rather than leaving you with a loss.
- A2A agent card
- An A2A agent card is a signed credential that identifies an agent and the operator behind it. AgentFide fetches and verifies the card during the identity check.
- Agent economy
- The agent economy is commerce where AI agents pay, buy, hire, and transact on behalf of people and businesses. It needs a trust layer because deals happen faster than humans can review.
